A miracle starts with the beat of a heart(5)

It was his last week and all the memories flashed in front of him, all his experiences at this place, all the fun times he had, the only place where he got to know that school is much more than just studies, he was much more than emotionally attached with this school. But alas, it would all be a distant memory in 7 days. But there was something else occupying his mind. He won't get to see Natalie again, possibly ever. In her eyes, he might have settled as a friend, but for him, she still was the girl he loved. Not that it made a difference now, 7 days and then they won't ever meet again, there was really no point in trying.

The school was mostly empty now, so Alex decided to go to one place he never had, the roof. Everyone knew that the school roof was off limits and no one tried going up there but he did, because this was his last day. What he saw from there was the same things he had seen for past 4 years but it all felt nostalgic and new at the same time, just the perspective changed everything. He sat there, thinking how this simple thing will be his cherished memory some years down the lane. Just then, he heard someone climbing up the stairs to the roof.
He was a little alarmed, what if it was some school staff? Alex had no reason to be where he was. But then, to his relief, he saw a familiar face, his friend Trent. He helped Trent get on the roof. Alex was still confused, "what is he doing here?" he thought. Before he could ask, he got his answer. "I saw you climbing up, thought i should join.", said Trent. Alex wasnt particularly happy about it, he wished for a bit more solitude, "but his company won't hurt" he thought.

They talked about how these years had changed Alex's life in every which way and made him what he was today and how they will miss everything from fooling around in the class and making puns to annoying the teachers and fighting for the only pencil(which Alex brought) to draw diagrams. It was these little things that made their friendship stronger than they thought.
"You will miss her won't you?" suddenly Trent asked. Alex was dumbfounded, but managed to say "Who?".
"Oh come one, you know who i am talking about." said Trent.
Alex sounded an almost inaudible yes.
"Are you two togethe..."
"NO! NO! nothing like that, just that we are good friends and ..." but Alex stopped mid sentence, he couldn't continue. Trent kept his hand on his shoulder and said "you can tell me Alex, you always can".
Alex couldnt hold his emotional floodgates, and said everything that was to be said, about how he felt and what had been going on for last few months.  When he was done, Trent stood there, looking at him, and giving a look of confidence to him. Alex felt as if a weight had been lifted off his chest.

There was silence for a long time. Suddenly Trent said "Well there is something else too which you should be worried about at the moment, the school staff. Lets get down before someone drags our ass to the principal."
Alex came back to his own, taking a moment to realise where he was and said "Yeah..., I was just lost for a moment you know, lets get back down."

The Back Story

Being on your own is one thing, you have your own ideology inspired or natural but when you are along someone it's a completely different story espicially in our case. Reading posts on our blog you might have noticed already how different our writing styles and vocabulary are and this shows how differently our minds are tuned and regardless of this mindset we have quite peculiar similarities. To even our amazement we happen to be among those who can spend hours arguing on a topic and then completely forget that we argued on something(and before you ask no we are not gay). And then out of the blue one of us screams at the other for not progressing on the arugument. This post itself arises from one of these tantrums that we throw at some small intervals of days. But because of this I personally realized how deep of a friendship we hold. Wether it be roasting eachother, making puns that wreck the recieving end or laughing at a lame joke we make, this guy right up here is a wierd being I met back in 11 grade; and still have a long way to go to actually know something about; is without a doubt a true partner in crime I cherish.

P.S: will kick him if offered money ;)

A miracle starts with the beat of heart(4)

She said no, as flatly as it gets. Although she looked taken aback, this didn't come as much of a surprise to her. She was noticing Alex’s awkwardness around her, and she expected that this was going to happen. She had never thought of Alex as anything more than a good friend, and moreover, there was no future of them together, it won't be long before he would leave the school, what after that? No, she had come to this school for studies and solely that, she didn't want any of this relationship bullshit. She had this answer ready at the back of her head if he proposed.
On the other end of the spectrum, these words were like a  thunderclap for Alex. He was by no means okay. He was just about able to maintain his composure, and left the room. He went home, and sat back, and thought of it. Surprisingly, he felt calm, much more than he had in last few days. Then, he realised, he needs to save this friendship at least. He messaged her an apology. She, to his relief, replied back, and said that it’s completely fine with her and she will still be friends.
Strangely enough, even after all this, their friendship just got better. They started spending time with each other like never before. Natalie came to know more of Alex, and so did he. Meanwhile, Bertha, Natalie’s best friend, insisted to Natalie that she could take a chance with Alex, that he is a nice person. Something inside Natalie told her that Bertha was right, because even after she saying no right at his face, he was still nice to her and wanted the friendship to stay, but she wasn't quite sure.

Pitter patter

Pitter, patter the rain starts to drop. While the water may fill up the hole in the ground it will never fill up the hole in one's heart. The droplet trickling down his cheek flows to his heart, and while that may create a ripple, it will never become his tears. He runs, faster than anyone, to race through the present to search for the past left behind, towards divinity. He wished the rain to fall even harder swallowing everything like a muddy stream. His conscious and subconscious both wanted to move forward, to see her again, to hold her hand again.

The girl too, ran through the drizzle. Water dripped down her skirt. She trampled, fell into the muddy stream the boy had walked through. She knew they were close yet so far.

Neither could he see her nor could she see him but despite this tragedy the rain; it fell
pitter patter pitter patter.

The miracle starts with beat of a heart (3)

Thus continues the story of Alex and Natalie...
Alex and Natalie, who were now called ALALIE more often than their actual names, were trying to not burst at everyone who called them that, but things had gone out of their hand pretty quick. But somewhere, deep down, both of them had a soft corner for each other.

They were getting teased very often now. They were able to shrug it off, but not without a giving a dangerous look. Things, however, didn't go down so calmly all the time. Apart from their occasional burst of rage, there was this one distinct incident that quite shaped what was to follow.

Natalie's best friend, and Alex got along pretty well. So, she planned a supposed prank that didn't go down well, at all. She created a fake screenshot, which seemed as if Natalie was confessing her feelings about Alex to Bertha. She sent it to Alex, who took it lightly and instinctively, sent it to some of his friends. Mind telling you that Alex's friend circle and Natalie's friend circle were like oil and water, they just couldn't mix.
Now the thing had gotten so much bigger than it really was, and Alex got to know that it was a prank, and that fired him up, to the point where he blocked Natalie and her friends out of sheer disgust of how insensitive the prank was. But Natalie couldn't care less, she seemed to have handled the situation much better. It took a lot of convincing and apologies from Bertha, and finally the matter was sorted after a lot of argument. At the end of it, Alex and Natalie had known so much more about their other side, which doesn't often show, and an incident that could've ended even a strong friendship, make this one even stronger.

It was the winter vacations!! Finally after 5 months of exhaustive school lessons, the students finally got the much needed break, where they could just sit back and relax. Meanwhile, where on one side, Alex was thinking of Natalie more and more, trying to not and failing badly, on the other side, Natalie was so busy going places, socializing, that she probably didn't even think of schoolmates, let alone Alex.
It was about time Alex addressed the elephant in the room, that he really liked Natalie and would love to be with her. They were talking to each other much more often than ever before, but Alex didn't let his emotions overtake him. The school reopened, and now that he was actually seeing her, made it both hard and awkward for him to be around her.
Then, one day, he finally  ebbed up all his courage, stopped her after school. He was finally going to do it. The exact thing that had occupued his mind for major part of a month now, he was finally doing it. He took a deep breath, and proposed her.

A Night Job

I see him, a decent job, a caring wife and his cheerful kids. All this makes him happy, or so he says. I've only talked to him once. I like to know the person better before I do what I do. I figured once is enough to know a person, I always do."You must free him fast!" the voice I've been familiar with all my life says. "No! this is wrong!" says the other. I've never agreed with him, why does he still try? After all, what is right and what is wrong? The loudest is always right! I must free him fast. It has to be tonight. Until then, I'm stuck here. I like it here, it's a small company, pays well and I don't have to interact with people a lot. I don't have much to do here, just make sure everything's running smoothly and that's job done. The loudest doesn't like me working like other 'Normal' people. He just likes our regular job and so do I. But, the other one has convinced me living and fitting in requires money and some human interaction. He's right, I must fit in, also, I get clients for my regular job here sometimes, like right now. I actually met him here and I've tailed him for some time now. Tonight's the night. I wonder what he'll contribute for my study. Humane emotions and feelings, always interested me. I don't have feelings and emotions so I try to understand them through others. Hasn't helped yet. Hope I'll get something tonight.

The time's come. He's exiting the building. I won't lose him, I know where he'll go next. Home, where the wife and child are waiting for him to come back so they can have dinner together. I guess they're not gonna have dinner tonight. Aha! The quiet alleyway, this is my chance! He's not aware of my presence, no one ever is. It makes this easier. Convincing people to come with me is rather easy, I just use some chloroform. Now, after I take him to my place everything will be easier.

The job's done. I didn't get anything good. I hate when fear and pain take the answers away."Why are you doing this? Please, leave me alone! I have a wife and kids! Please, I beg of you! Leave me alone!". His last words, makes me understand humans a bit. I've come to realize humans do think of others too and also that they beg to live. The loud one's pleased with what we did today. He was laughing with joy when I removed the eyes from the socket. The eyes, blinds us from the truth. I'd hoped he'd see that and help me with my study. But the results were quite dissatisfying. Another night ended in the warmth of blood upon my hands.

For the last time....

Today i donned the school uniform, for the one last time. What was a burden for the past twelve years, became a privilege today. All of my schooling, after dissing about this whole system, today i want to wear them, these uncomfortable clothes, which were with me, through hundreds of lessons and thousands of memories. I had absolutely no liking for this uniform, until today. The twelve years, flashing past me in a moment, and then, a feeling like I just got robbed, of all the good times, of all the times I spent complaining, of all the memories. I felt as i was being stripped of my privilege to relive these moments and create new memories with this uniform I hated wearing but now at the end of the day I take them off for the very last time
